Care Instructions for Jewellery

  • General

Please try to keep your metal jewellery dry to avoid damage or tarnishing.

  • Beaded pieces

If possible, please store hanging or lying a flat surface.

Do not clean with a cleaning solution or water as this may cause the piece to become mishapen.

  • Copper

I coat all my copper jewellery in wax so it doesn't tarnish as fast.

You can use a silver polishing cloth to clean copper, but it may remove the wax coating.

  • Sterling Silver

Wipe with a silver polishing cloth.

You can clean sterling silver jewellery in warm soapy water, but make sure it is dried thoroughly right after and there are no non-waterproof comonents.

  • Gold Filled

You can clean gold filled jewellery in warm soapy water, but make sure it is dried thoroughly right after and there are no non-waterproof components.

  • Niobium

You can clean niobium jewellery in warm soapy water with a soft cloth as long as there are no non-waterproof components, but do not use abrasives as this may remove the colour.

  • Cabochons and Gemstones

Do not polish with a silver polishing cloth and do not use cleaning solutions aside from a mild detergent. Avoid submerging the stones in water as water may get trapped behind the stone. Dry thoroughly.

  • Faceted Stones

These stones can be cleaned in warm soapy water and a soft brush. Dry thoroughly after.

  • Painted Glass

Do not get wet or use wet cleaning solutions. Some of these pieces contain paper which may not be sealed fully by the stone and metal.
